Pandamonium

And on another note entirely, I’ve also made a couple of panda-themed creations. I’ve finally been able to use the plastic animal eyes I have lying around from when I used to make soft toys for the kids (as yet I haven’t found a non-creepy use of plastic eyes in my textile art!).

And bigger things….

I also make larger custom pieces using similar techniques, which are then framed for wall-mounting:

My Jewellery

First real post, so I think I’d better show off a bit of what I love to make: Intricate textile jewellery pieces!

I make all the fabric myself by stitching and distressing many layers of material  (I’ll tell you more about it sometime later). This gives a beautiful, complex surface which I cut, shape and stitch into a 3D form, then decorate with beads, wire or whatever catches my eye. Every single piece I make gets its own unique shape, colour and personality – I hope that everyone will be able to find something to catch their eye in my work!
